12 Days to Go

This title almost makes me panic...I have many more gifts to get, all the gifts to wrap, all the Christmas cards to do, and a tree that looks like it is missing it's pants. I started to string lights on the tree last night and of course we only have 3 strands, just enough to cover the tree and of course, only 1/2 of the last strand will light up. I got out my trusty light tester and tried everything short of removing each bulb and testing it individually. I was willing to do that, mind you, but my rational self gave my obsessive self a quick reprimand and I decided buying a new strand of lights would be more in line with staying sane....or so I thought. I stopped at Wal-Mart to get a strand or 2 and I was mortified to find out that they were out of lights!!!! How could Wal-Mart be out of Christmas lights. They had a few 20 bulb strands left and a handful of multi-colored (we are using white) and that was all. I was waiting for my husband to get home and save the day as he said he would stop at The Home Depot for me on the way home, but he was unsuccessful too!!!!!!! This cannot be. How insane is it that there are no non-twinkling white lights to be found.

Merry Christmas Thoughts:

The Yule Flip Peppermint Chip Blizzard was just as good as hoped.
Bath and Body Holiday Soaps
The Nativity Story - although not as good as I had hoped, it was still heart-warming and beautiful.
Christmas shopping with my favorite sister!
Christmas cookies and treats from our neighbors! They were delicious and also heart-warming.

After waiting it out for 30 years, we have discovered that "retro" large colored lights are back in style. If you want to switch over we have about 5 unopened boxes in the attic and many on our tree already and we'd be happy to share. Call me if you want some!

Thanks Ma B. We actually have a few boxes of those ourselves. I was still holding out for the small ones and I have finally been successful.
