Coconut Bras of Joy

You know that it is going to be a good day when it begins like this:
Names have not been changed to protect the innocent.

Pastor D: Wow, there are not many kids here today, do you think that they are all on v acation?
Me: Probably, maybe in Hawaii!
Pastor D: Has anyone ever been to Hawaii?
Raven raises her hand
Pastor D: Was it nice there?
Raven: Yes
Parker is now raising his hand
Pastor D: Yes, Parker.
Parker (in a very intellectual voice): Speaking of Hawaii, I like to wear coconut bras.
Pastor D: You too?

Okay, the last line was part of my imagination, but all of the rest is true and it gets even better. (Sorry Pastor D, I can't remember exactly what you said past this point as Parker in a coconut bra was very distracting for me.)

Parker completed his sharing by telling us all that the coconut bra was his Mom's, but it was too big for her so she let him wear it. Good times, good times!

Halfway through KIDZone, I started to feel like I was going to puke. I get that occasionally (no, I am not pregnant!) and the feeling always passes in a few minutes and I never puke, but there is a first time for everything, so I was trying to figure out the best way to throw up in front of the kids. This was at the time in the lesson when I was holding the candy container and so that seemed like the logical solution. I would throw up in the candy container and it would be disgustingly beautiful with colorful pieces of wrapped candy mixed in. After I figured this out however, the feeling passed so the candy and container are still puke-free.

Our last lesson on the Fruit of The Spirit focused on Joy. My parents named me Jennifer Joy and I was not too fond of that growing up. It would have been okay if it had some sort of special meaning, but I found out that they picked it when they heard someone on TV mention that they named their daughter Jennifer Joy. They can't remember who it was or if it was even a celebrity. It could have been a commercial for Chapstick or a news story for all anyone knows. So, my name came from a mystery person from TV. It didn't flow for me and when anyone shortened it to Jenny Joy, the urge to slap the person was strong as it sounded like some sort of Yankee Doodle rhyme. I started to feel a bit better about it when I found out that I was almost Lucy and as I have grown up, I have really started to like Jennifer Joy. This is mostly because, I have found out the true meaning of Joy over the years and I would really love to be known as joyful. Danielle did a great lesson on Joy and explained again how being joyful is not just being happy, it is being content in all circumstances. That is what I strive to be.

P.S. Guess what everyone? Acorn is growing new belly hair!!!!!!

Oh, I don't think I will ever forget this one!!!! Parker is a hoot! A coconut bra can't be comfortable by the way. Incidentally, was his mother told of his confession?
I am so glad to hear of the hair growth in your household :)
Love you!
